Visitors and locals delight in strolling around San Pedro Town and obtaining souvenirs for their friends and relatives back home. In San Pedro this can be a really rewarding experience and an adventure in itself.

Ambergris Caye is known for its wide variety of products, whether they are made in San Pedro, some other part of Belize, Mexico, Guatemala or anywhere else on the globe.

From the incredible variety of artwork at Belizean Arts in Fido's, to the classical beauty of the jewelry found in many locations, San Pedro Town offers a wealth of unusual and interesting Central American goods.

Take a walk down Front Street, the colorful and interesting stores are all a short walk away. No mall action around here, but quiet comfortable shops await you. Looking for these items and gifts is a fun experience and adventure in itself.

Ambergris Caye doesn't have a mall, but you won't miss it as we do a wide array of shops: from tiny vendors on the street to several gift shops, art galleries, clothing stores and Belizean lifestyle boutiques, like 12 Belize.

The gift shops mainly carry products made by local Belizeans, Mexicans, Guatemalan and imported items as well. You will also find an incredible variety of artwork, classic beautiful jewelry and much more as you stroll around La Isla Bonita. San Pedro Town gives everyone a wide selection of unusual and interesting Central American goodies. Among the items available for purchase in San Pedro are art, jewelry, wine and liquor, photography, clothing, edibles, furniture, wood or bamboo products, beauty and skin care products, a wide variety of foods, music, ceramics, paintings, travel guides, coins, Cuban cigars and other tobacco products, and much more.

Several thousands of visitors flock to our little island every year for a nice getaway, and always, theres the dreaded souvenir shopping day, a day reserved solely for buying little gift items for friends back home. To make matters more complicated, gone are the days when a simple Belize t-shirt would do. Now, everyone is a connoisseur of fine art and native artifacts. A t-shirt? Forget it!

Thus, visitors now find themselves reserving a special day for shopping. With the new rules of souvenir shopping, stores and gift shops have had to overhaul their products they offer, and as you will found out, the variety is amazing! From exotic hard woods, Belizean cookbooks, fanciful house accessories to Belizean sauces, rums and spices, the products available just boggle the mind!

The main road, locally known as “Front Street” is where you will find many of these shops. Front Street is more formally known as Barrier Reef Drive, which is what you'll see on the maps.

From the moment you start strolling down this street, it is obvious that there is no shortage of stores to choose from. Everyones tastes are different, and for each discriminating consumer, there is something new.

There are several great shops on Middle St (Pescador Dr) and Back St (Almond St) as well as some of the other smaller side streets.

Other than the usual magnets, picture frames and yes, tshirts, one can find books, purses, clay figurines and food products. Several stores also offer fantastic personal finds that have nothing to do with souvenirs. Many people need to quickly pick up some new clothing items while waiting for their baggage to be flown over; there are stores that offer beautiful items to tide you over! So, follow us through our stroll around the various stores in San Pedro Town as we present to you our newest series, A San Pedro Shopping Experience. Remember, if all else fails, you could always just get a San Pedro T-Shirt!
