Angel Nunez: Some people will raise eyebrows when they learn that the price for a pound of snappers is 15 dollars, that is a medium size snapper. However I believe that the price is fair and understandable. The price of fish Fifty Years Ago was very inexpensive, almost a giveaway for various reasons. First of all there was an abundance of fish as proven by this photo of Don Fash with a single haul of some 1000 pounds of fish. Secondly they did not have that heavy price of gasoline since they relied on sailing boats or large dories and poles. And listen to this! In my days back then if I wanted 5 snappers for lunch, I simply got hold of a fishing line and bait and went straight to the beach anywhere in front of the village. In less than half an hour I would have my catch in my sack.
