Huge cliffs of limestone
Near the Bladen Nature Reserve rise huge cliffs of limestone - the skeletal remains of ancient coral reefs. Jungle sprouts from these mounds on all but the steepest edges. Probably very difficult to climb and explore, this habitat represents small islands of protected biodiversity that contribute to making Belize a natural wonderland. I hope to capture some of this beauty from the ground over the next week. A note to you would-be photographers/explorers...camera gear is HEAVY!
