Aerial view of Glover's Atoll Resort on North East Caye
Glover's Atoll Resort is located on the privately owned North East Caye (9 acre; 5 hectare) in the Glovers Marine Reserve, white sand, coral, & coconut trees, left in their natural state on top of the pristine reef, this little island getaway has grown and evolved over the years. Originally a laid-back and rustic retreat on a very isolated caye, it is currently deserving of its "resort" moniker, although it still retains much of the hostel-like atmosphere and funky charm.
Glover's Atoll was named after pirate brothers, John and Rodger Glover, in the 1750's. Before pirates the Mayans sailed here, pieces of Mayan pottery have been found on the islands and beaches. In 1996 the Atoll was designated as Marine Reserve.
