Full Load! The old hand pulled ferry that crossed the cut in San Pedro
This was the pull ferry to cross the cut. Back in the day, this is how we went from South side of island to the North side. They would pull you across on the barge. It was been replaced by the toll bridge in 2006. It was always interesting wondering if everything was going to make it. Especially at night. It was always amazing how many carts, bikes and people could get on it. I also remember the long lines sometimes. It was so much fun. Especially sitting at the bar and betting on which golf cart would drop next. There were always a few folks that wenr right on off in their golf cart after a few drinks. Never knew who you might be riding with. Remember when we all hated waiting? And every now and then the line would break.
30 years ago wading across was the only way when you wanted to go north and didn't have a boat.
