Severito Guerrero and Maggie (Margarita, Margaret Leahy-Conner), who married Jose Pacifico, better known as Spanish. 1980-81
Maggie came from San Francisco in the late 70's. She was sailing the Cool Goose with Russell Pollero and a couple other gringo's. She was a talented artist in painting and music.
I remember playing cards with Maggie & Jose (Spanish) and Elizabeth & her hubby at the time in the late 70's
When I was younger, I used to go with my friend Coffey to spend time with Maggie on Saturdays and learn various things - guitar playing, cooking lessons, crafts like making pinatas and costumes. We'd go swimming at Mar de Tumbo as that is where they lived with Don Severito, who played a mean trumpet. Some of my best childhood experiences were because of Maggie. I moved to SP in 1980 so would have likely spent the time with her from 1981-1983 at the most.
We use to live right across from each other in San Telmo.
I was guessing the year based on the buildings.. I remember when Maggie and Jose fixed up the place, I remember the wedding.. I remember the first pig roast, when I ate a pig Fi and I had fed.. Fiona trying the chicken feed because she figured if it wasn't good enough for her, it wasn't good enough for the chickens.. And I remember making Empanadas from the shark we caught with a hand line … somebody asked Fi and I to hold the line.. Then there was the marrionette making… still can't hear "Ain't she sweet" without being transported in time to San Telmo! We had a privilaged childhood!
WOW!!! so many childhood memories with them, they were a big part of the island, going to their place on sundays were always exciting and fun!!!
