This is the ferry that used to be by Banquitas Park....to go to San Estevan village....
My Dad and Mr Mathias Alpuche were the ferrymen for all my childhood...
I used to dive off this Ferry.. Amazingly when i was like 12 years...old ...
The house to the right ... Still there ... It's the Alpuche residence...
The new bridge was constructed when the late Leopoldo Briceno was Minister...
in 1970 i used to go to San Estavan weekly to take supplies to my customers. there was already a regular bridge, no ferry. Then in the later years the land was filled and a raised bridge was built that is now in operation. that road led to San Estevan/progresso and also into little belize...
