Menacing Looking Storm Cloud Over Ambergris Caye

You would think that this storm cloud would have brought a torrential downpour on San Pedro; well, islanders just got a slight drizzle from it. This wall cloud moved over the island on Tuesday, August 30, 2016.

As I sat on the deck looking out to the reef, a remarkably chilly breeze swept in from behind me. I turned around and saw this.

The chilly wind and the massing cloud formation kept on coming. So ominous, yet so beautiful. It reminded me of the scenes in “Independence Day” when the alien ships would suddenly drop down out of a thick roiling mass of cloud cover.

There was the rumble of thunder here and there and a tiny sprinkling of rain. Nothing to match the fierce appearance of this cloud!
