Icons of Maya art
We all know the Maya were very creative in their art, and sometimes very detailed, and the best preserved icons of Maya art show us right down the patterns on clothing and even facial expressions. What struck us as being very beautiful as well is the detail paid to the hands, in terms of their gestures, elegance, and even the inclusion of fingernails. Check out these examples from Calakmul, Yaxchilan, Lamanai and Hokeb Ha.
