The side where the Family is leads to the sea, and the front of that building is on Fifth Avenue.
When you are coming to visit Corozal, visit the Emilio Ahmad House in Corozal. Ahmad Residence/Store - Built in 1949 by Don Carlos Ahmad, founder of C. Ahmad E Hijos, a company that sold textiles and households items on the street level of the colonial building while Mr. Ahmad and family resided on the second story. Mr. Ahmad originally came from Mikhail, a Palestinians town in Jerusalem, Israel. He arrived in Belize with fellow immigration looking for better business opportunities. He fell in love with Corozal town and decided to settle here. Don Carlos passed away in 1972, leaving his son Emilio Ahmad and his wife Yolanda and their two children yousef and Jimmina to take over the family business. Mr. Emilio Ahmad introduced the wholesale and import business and started to distribute company with assistance of his sons Yousef and his wife. The company changed names to Emilio Ahmad and sons ltd. To differentiate the wholesale business from the small textile shop. Emilio Ahmad passed away back in 2005. Family members currently reside in the upper level of the building; the main level shop still operates; maintaining charm.
Part of the Corozal Town Historical Walk, inaugurated by the Corozal House of Culture in 2017. The street to the right is where St. Paul Anglican Primary school is. The house on the left side could be the Hemsley house.
