View along the river in the Golden Stream Corridor Preserve
The Golden Stream Corridor Preserve was purchased in 1998 to avoid its conversion to citrus and shrimp farming. GSCP protects the last remaining forested link between the Maya Mountains global biodiversity hotspot and the coastal lowland forests.
It is home to 20 Fish, 19 Amphibian, 270 Bird, 59 Mammal and 54 Reptile species. Additionally 4 Plant, 2 Bird, 7 Mammal, and 2 Reptile. Globally Endangered Species are found in the private protected area.
