Born on the island of San Pedro, Ambegris Caye, Jose Albino Paz, better known as Changa, saw the need to accommodate tourists who came to the island by offering trips to our natural reserve. Amigos Del Mar Dive Shop started off as a thatched roof structure in the year 1987 that offered snorkeling trips to Hol Chan and Shark Ray Alley reserves as well as a rental for scuba and snorkeling gear.

Ration line in Belize City after Hurricane Hattie, 1961

This picture was taken by the Old Marketing Board by Fort on North Front Street, where they had the storage of food as it arrives from abroad.

In this picture you are seeing the thousands of Belizeans in line, to get anything they offer for food. Then there are the hundreds injured lined at the clinics and hospitals. What about the thousands looking for any piece of material to patch their homes, or any piece of roofing to put on their roof.

Not to mention the search for dead bodies all around, and the disposal of those bodies. Some buried by their relatives, but many had to be burnt because of the condition of those bodies.

Lots of people went unaccounted. BTL, BWSL & people digging foundation's drains regularly reported finding skeletal remains of humans

Out of electricity supply also for many months, and a sewerage disruption for months also. What about that long period with no lights to see the thieves?
