The "Belize Stores" and a portion of the store of C. Biddle to the right, Belize City 1930's

My Dad told me about this store, C Biddle. it was beside Paslow Building . Notice the horse and cart, the main mode of transport at the time.

Catherine Weiser (Lind) Biddle (1851 - 1941)
Catherine (Lind) Biddle
Catherine Weiser "Ma Biddle" Biddle formerly Lind
Born 3 Dec 1851 in Darmstadt, Hessen, Germanymap
Daughter of Sebastian H Lind and Margaret Schnarr
Sister of Mary (Lind) Prindle, Lena Lind [half] and Sebastian Lind [half]
Wife of Juan (Vidal) Biddle — married 1 Aug 1870 in Brooklyn, Kings, New York, USA.

Capt John Biddle was a merchant sea captain (ship may have been “Pallas” and seems to be other mention of “Emily”). His name was anglicized from Juan Vidal - Spain). He married (in New York) Catherine Lind aka “Ma Biddle” (her parents were Sebastian & Catherine - they later returned to Germany). When he retired from the sea, John & Ma Biddle moved to Belize, British Honduras, where son, Fred, was born. “Ma Biddle” opened the Biddle Store. Dr Lind, Catherine's brother, later joined them in Belize, British Honduras.
