Howler Hill at dawn during the Blancaneaux Lodge Birdathon
As I sat there and the first rays of light filled the valley into visibility, I thought deeply if its past. This place, cradle of my birding career, how much I learned here, how much I had to sacrifice here, how much I had to endure here, how much I enjoyed it. But ultimately, how far I have made it. I smile, take a deep breath, sip my coffee and scan the valley below for raptors.
