Premier George Price, Hon. Santiago Perdomo, and Hector Silva in Arenal Village, early 1960's
Arenal is the most Westerly Community in Belize and sits on the border with Guatemala. The Border runs in the middle of the football field.
It was in this village, that Mr. Price wanted to see the economic conditions of the people, by asking permission to see what they were cooking for their mid-day meal.
( San Perdomo and myself were still in our mid 20's and the Boss in his late 30's - quite long ago. )
NO SUV, NO NECKTIE, NO EXPENSIVE SHOES. NO POLICE BATALLION, OR G.S.U. WITH RIFLES & BATONS.
Everything was different then. Population was smaller, roads were rougher, everybody seemed to be living the same standard of life.
