Manatee off Ambergris Caye
Belize is said to have one of the healthiest populations of West Indian manatees, but due to their large size and generally slow pace, they are easily injured or killed - making them vulnerable to being hit by motorboats and caught in fishing nets.
That's why we're lucky to have the Jamal A. Galves - manateeman, who works every day to protect these gentle giants.
