Barrier Reef Hotel in San Pedro, 1996. Front of the building, pool, and entrance to the bar

The old Barrier Reef and the Navigator Bar. Was owned by John and Jeanne Bremekamp. The Sea Turle Gift Shop was on the side street run by Genaro "Crusher" Nunez (R.I.P) and Conchi.

The Barrier Reef Hotel - which used to sit where Heritage Bank is now. Initially the Blake House, later the hotel owned and operated by John and Jeanie Bremekamp and home to their family. Excellent pizza and chinese food - fun bar.

Previously known as the Blake House, and later the site of Heritage Bank. Jade Garden Restaurant was on the first floor. The bar with sand on the floor holds many memories of lobster and rice in Sue's restaurant. Best Pizza in SP at the time, you could smell that from distance by just passing. They had a sand floor in the bar. That was such a great old building, though the extention cords were a little scary. Loved to watch the parades fron that veranda. It was like "Cheers" . ..."where everybody knows your name, and they're always glad you came...."

The only stop light for years in Belize was in the Bar!!! STOP WHAT? That stop light came from Bell Haven N.C. and was an Xmas gift for my Son a long time ago. It ended up at Fidos and now don't know where it is.

Olav Larsen: George ran a good bar and was friend to so many young guys far from home . Bottle of Glen and a box of king Edward's got you a days sightseeing and fishing !!
