Cluster of thasus acutangulus, coreid bug nymphs
If you get too close they spray (squirt) a white “acid” liquid at you.... which burns the skin! All I took away from this encounter, is to stay well away from them.... They were about 3/4 inches long. They're just nymphs, they'll get bigger. They are Thasus sp., and are indigenous.
They're leaf footed bugs, not the unfavorable assassin bugs.
If you have passionfruit vines, you'll see them everywhere on them./p>
