Aerial view of Half Moon Caye, 2020. Also a view from the ground from long ago
Half Moon Caye is found within one of our three atolls and is also one of the seven World Heritage Sites in Belize. It's one island that makes up the Lighthouse Atoll, the others being Long Caye in Sandbore.
I just love this place. It's not only beautiful, it's teeming with marine life and birds. It also has a rich history. Every Belizean should endeavour to visit this caye at least once in their lifetime, not only because of the things that i have mentioned above but because of its geographical location. It is the furthest Belizean landmass to the east.
I had the most amazing time when I was there. Did not want to leave. I shall return and plan on camping. So serene beautiful. Flora, Fauna, marine life.
