Juvenile jaguar along the Southern Highway
Ya’axché’s Community Liaison Manager saw TWO juvenile jaguars along the Southern Highway. One quickly jumped into the bushes as a vehicle sped by, but Julio Chub managed to take a photo of the other. Julio’s first jaguar sighting happened while he was on his way to visit newly elected community leaders within the Maya Golden Landscape.
Just a reminder to motorists: Kindly drive carefully in this important forested corridor, especially around Golden Stream Corridor Preserve! Jaguars along with many other wildlife are constantly crossing the highway.
