There was a fire before that. Cleaned out the middle and cross the street toward the river.
There was a garnachas shop by the Shell gas station, run by an American Mamés Keen.
This was before the first big fire. Daniel Habet shop and Maya Hotel fu Wahib Mena Family.
Looks like by Arguelles corner when you were going right, coming from that chiney man shop. Go straight you will pass behind primary school up top.
Daffy Silva Photo Shop down town where the Torres family used to live back in the days. Next to Junior Lisbey.
Kalim Habet store And Esso gas station belonged to Mr. Kalim Habet. Mr. Awe used to work at that Esso gas station. Later the Esso was owned by Mr. Bill Lisbey. I use to go buy groceries with my mom here went I was a kid sweet memory the people who owned it was so kind. That guy in jeans look like Mr Dady Waight. Pablo Manzanero in the race and Pancha in the background with tacos.
My uncles shop We Lulu and my Sister. And Chinfu. The Gas station Run by Bill Lisbey and Mike Salazar Maxwell brother the Fire man (Mark Espat).
Good view of Michel H. Chebat Store. Long before the Indian stores made their way to Cayo. Back in those days, few women wore pants & few men walked all about with shorts. And motor vehicles were far fewer in number, and many houses were made out of lumber. That guy at the table in front of the old Belize bank is selling boledo. Weekend the whole crowd used to gather there and in front of Kalim Habet store to sell lottery. That is where they use to line up with their tables. Mr. David and Alwyn Smith, Mr. Tito Waight, Mr. Hildebrandt “Hilly” Harris, Mr. and Mrs. Berry, Mr. Godfrey Tillet, Mr. Chelo Pulido and Ms. Mai from Santa Elena, Ms. Eloísa Waight, Mr. Neddy Mendez...the whole group of original boledo sellers.
