Aerial views of the approach to Sir Barry Bowen Municipal Airport, then and now
Belize Municipal Airport, the little hanger has come a long way. It is now the Sir Barry Bowen Municipal Airport. The ole "bandaid strip". Plane come in crabbing many a time. Sometimes a tricky landing when crosswinds were blowing...

I often walk or run pass this statue at the municipal airport and wondered the reason for the position or stance. I must say that I felt a little sad because Barry was one of our forward thinkers and he was a great loss to our country. Regent Albert
This position/ stance represents Sir Barry as he stands on the stairs for his office on King Street.
He is facing the hangar for his plane that he used to transport himself to and from San Pedro on a daily basis.
It is an amazingly detailed likeness captured by a very talented sculptor. Dave Craig
