Belize City Southern Foreshore before the sugar warehouse, pre Hattie, circa 1950's
Government House is about 100 yards behind the photographer. At times when the sea was rough, you would find sea horse on the wall. Some of the boats that docked in the area were Kitty, Robin, Miss America, Marie B, Winnie, Kipper, Shirley, and a few more..
Brian Keating:
The real white fence was my G'parents home (Stansbury), to the left of that fence is Palm Lane and to the right of that fence is a small alley that leads to Jim Waight's and what was at that time C N Fraser's home, and to the right of the alley (looks like 3 small people standing) was our home.
This big house resembles a house where two white sisters use to live. I believe that they had called them Paper doll. Dean Street ended before or after. And in the middle of the lost block of Dean Street was a gasoline company office and Guy Nords house on the other side of the street. Can’t recall the company’s name, it might have been Gulf Gas Co.
On the little island right out there some of the fishermen that came in at night would moor their boats there until morning to pull up at the market.
