Last week Friday, Miss Shiemicka
La-Shanne Richardson stole the hearts of the judges and was crowned Miss
Belize 2000. The pageant was held at the Civic Center in Belmopan where
hundreds witnessed this glamorous event. Five contestants vied for the
title and made their presentations in casual, cultural, swimsuit and
evening wear. A question and answer session
Miss Richardson has returned to New York, where she
resides, to immediately continue training for the upcoming Miss Universe
Pageant. Shiemicka feels confident that she will make Belize proud by
being one of the top ten semi-finalists of this Pageant to be held May
12th in Cyprus.
Shiemicka has two years of modeling and acting experience which she feels
adds to her chances of being a semi-finalist. Miss Belize left the
country with a $1500 cash prize and luggage outfit. Shiemicka enjoyed her
new friendships with the other contestants so much, she decided to split
the remaining prizes with them.
Shiemicka Richardson will be making a special
appearance on the CBS morning show on April
10th along with the
rest of the candidates of Miss Universe. She leaves for Cyprus on April
17th. First runner-up
was Miss Elizabeth Rosado and second runner-up, Miss Shari Williams.
