Members of film crew with BTB representatives during San Pedro shoot

As promised by the Belize Tourism Board, working with the Ministry of Tourism in December of 1999, advertising in the world of electronic media for Belize is well on its way. A film crew consisting of seven arrived in Belize last Tuesday and were met by Mr. Paul Hunt and Mr. Henry Adderly, representatives of the Belize Tourism Board. The crew traveled to various places around the country, including San Pedro, shooting different scenes representative of Belize. This is an effort to add Belize's flare and appeal to the advertisements geared to the North American market. The end product will focus on Belize as a country and not individual destinations. The filming will target a combination of Belize's beauty to include shots of children, waterfalls, archeological sites, beaches, sunsets/sunrises, and more. These shots will produce three Belize commercials to be aired 300 times, over a three month period and will reach an audience of over 11 million households. The project will target the upscale, educated, adventure enthusiasts in major US markets and will be aired on select US cable networks such as A&E, E!, the History and Travel Channels, CNN, CNBS, ESPN2 and Fox Sports. Belize's first ever television campaign will commence on February 1st, 2000.
