Dust was flying as the Lady Lions took charge of distribution

The San Pedro Lions Club has been asked to take over the task from NEMO of distributing food and materials to the residents of San Pedro affected by Hurricane Keith. NEMO is presently in a "phasing down" stage and opted for the San Pedro Lions Club because of their outstanding reputation and contribution to this community. After a last minute general meeting to work on their plan of attack, the members immediately started to work  packing the goods in bags. They quickly hit the streets of San Pedro dispensing the much needed provisions. NEMO handed over goods totaling more than $64,000 to the Lions Club, including canned and other non-perishable goods, clothing, zinc and roofing. The Club will be distributing the food on a house-to-house basis ensuring that everyone who is in need is assisted.

With regards to the zinc and roofing, the entire Lions Club will be assessing people's needs and would like to assure the general public that distribution will be done in the fairest manner possible.

On Tuesday, October 17th some Lions Club Board of Directors members accompanied Sergeant Gongora, Storesman for the Belize Defense Force, to review the inventory list. After checking everything, Sergeant Gongora officially handed over the goods to Treasurer Lion Abel Guerrero.
