Pageant contestants with reigning Miss San Pedro

Central Park will be the venue for this year's Miss San Pedro Pageant. Glamour, charm and intelligence will all play a big part in the selection of the new "Señorita San Pedro" this Saturday, September 8th. Commencing at 8:00 p.m. the pageant will showcase four island beauties judged in their cultural, swimsuit and evening wear, as well as their response to a question and answer session.

Throughout the week the lovely participants, consisting of Dilcia Trejo, Geraldine Leslie, Margarita Medina and Marcia Haylock, took part in various outings and rehearsal preparations for this grand event. On Monday, the ladies were hosted for lunch by Captain Morgan's Retreat. While at "Temptation Island," the contestants enjoyed a relaxing afternoon in the Jacuzzi, took a dip in the swimming pool and posed for a photo shoot. In the evening the participants rendezvoused at Ramon's Village for the official sashing ceremonies. The reigning Miss San Pedro, Adaly Guerrero, accepted the honor of presenting each candidate with their respective sash.

Dilcia Trejo is being sponsored by Castillo's Hardware, Geraldine Leslie by Moncho's Golf Cart Rentals, Margarita Medina by Ramon's Village and Marcia Haylock by the San Pedro Town Council and Reef Radio. On Wednesday, the girls traveled to Caye Caulker, "La Isla Cariñosa," where they soaked up some sun and received a friendly reception by the "Hicaqueños." They will also be visiting other businesses in San Pedro and continue rehearsals with Mr. Malcolm Hitchcock of Fido's Courtyard to ensure a class-act performance on stage.

Admission for this gala event is $5 reserved seats, $3 general admission and $1 for children under 12 years old. A victory dance in honor of the new Miss San Pedro will follow after the pageant with the dynamic sounds of the New Sensations Band from Cayo District. Pageant conductor, Deputy Mayoress Mel Spain and the San Pedro Town Council extend an invitation to all residents and visitors of San Pedro to attend this grand event.
