starting at 11:00 a.m. in Central Park. Fundraising activities will feature an auction with fabulous trips, rooms and dinners to bid on; a garage sale with $1, $5 and $10 item tables; raffles for a color TV, appliances and many other wonderful prizes; and a bake sale. The always-entertaining rock and roll band - Category 7 will provide sensational music for the event. Food, alcoholic beverages and soft drinks will be sold.
To promote the Chamber's efforts to rid the island of environmentally hazardous materials, each person attending who brings with them an old, used golf cart battery will receive a FREE chicken lunch and one FREE raffle ticket. For added convenience, a tractor and trailer will be traveling the island Sunday morning to pick up any batteries and will deliver them to the park. Clothing and food items will also be collected in a separate area of the park for the victims of last Saturday's fire.
Anyone wishing to volunteer their time, or donate anything for the garage sale, auction, raffle, bake sale, bar, or fire victims may drop off items at the following locations: in town or south of town at The BoatYard, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and north of the cut before Sunday at Mata Chica Resort. For more information, call Nadia at 021-3011.
Please come out and support the Chamber's efforts. A portion of the money raised will benefit the recent fire victims. The remainder of the proceeds collected will be used for the betterment of our community. See you there!
