Joining the already announced beauty ambassadors for this year's Costa Maya Festival is Belize's own Andrea Elrington. Andrea is the current Miss Belize 2005 and had the honor to represent Mother Nature's Best Kept Secret in the Miss Universe 2005 Pageant.

    A graduate of Saint John's College Junior College, this 22-year-old beauty is now attending Fort Valley State University in Georgia, USA about to receive her degree in Communications and Public Relations. Among her many ambitions is to become an International Correspondent or an International Public Relations Specialist for companies in the Fortune 500.

    The youngest in a family of three brothers and one sister, Andrea enjoys ballet, acting, playing the piano, modeling and sports such as, basketball, tennis and golf. Among her guilty pleasures is watching reality shows like Fear Factor, The Amazing Race and The Apprentice.

    Andrea now joins candidates from Costa Rica - Johanna Fernandez, Honduras - Kimberly McNab, and El Salvador - Irma Dimas. Contestants from Guatemala, Mexico and Nicaragua will be announced shortly. The Reina de la Costa Maya will be hosted by Sebastian Rulli, actor of the popular "telenovela" Contra Viento y Marea along with beautiful TV personality Lilian Villanueva.

    The Costa Maya committee is confident that this year's festivities will be grand and fun for all. Music from the various countries will enlighten and fill the compound with beats and melodies. Included in the roster of bands and musical presentations is Honduras' Los Legendarios who will delight everyone with the popular Reggaeton beats and Sabor Bahia. How could one forget the fantastic A. B. Quinatanilla and the Kumbia Kings - the headliners of the Costa Maya playing on Saturday. Cultural presentations have also been scheduled including the Ballet Folklorico del Municipio de Othon P. Blanco and Grupo Cali from Guatemala and the great dancers of El Salvador, Identidades Grupo de Danza. Among the festivities is a scheduled Kayak Race which will take place on Sunday. This race is a set 13 miles starting at the festival grounds, heading to the Boca del Rio lagoon, and heading south to the Boca Chica canal and returning to the San Pedro Lagoon ending at the grounds once more.
