Coordinator of Special Events for Partners of the Americas, Barbara Block, along with Dr. Chris Bennett, President for the Belize Partners, met last Saturday with the San Pedro Lions Club to make arrangements for the upcoming International Convention scheduled for November 15th – 18th.
In November Belize will welcome participants from the 120 Partner Organizations from South America, Central America, Mexico, the Caribbean, and the United States of America. Partners of the Americas was founded in 1964 and is a private, non-profit and non-partisan organization, enjoying the support of many individuals, international corporations and foundations. The organization works by pairing 45 US states and the District of Colombia with 31 Latin American and Caribbean countries into 60 “partnerships.”
Partners of the Americas have various programs – exchange programs – in various areas. One of them being the Citizen Participation which works in strengthening civil society and nongovernmental organizations; teaching the responsibilities of citizenship; educating about legal rights; increasing the participation of women. Education and training is another exchange program where training in various fields and opportunities abound; it helps in training the leaders of tomorrow and brings institutions of higher education to share knowledge.

Scientific research has proven that these leaves are in fact a powerhouse of nutritional value. Gram for gram, moringa leaves contain:
Unfortunately, even while science sings the praise of moringa leaves, this vital information has not reached the people who need it most. Partners of the Americas is responding to this need and are working hard to make this project a reality.
With over 120 volunteer chapters, Partners of the Americas is definitely rolling up their sleeves and making a difference. For further information, kindly contact President of the Belize Chapter Dr. Chris Bennett at 223-0404.
