This Saturday October 28th the Saga Humane Society held its first Halloween Benefit party. There was lots of fun to be had with a donut eating contest and lots of other great games, prizes, cakes, candy, and treats! Many of Saga’s guests – two legged and four legged - came decked out in their fanciest Halloween getups. The winners of our two legged costume contest were: Amaru Barreto who was a Saga ghost, Antun Barreto as Superman, and Samir Castro as Bruce Lee - Kung-Fu master. Elizabeth Hobarth won the adult version of the contest in a terrific cat suit! The winners of our four legged costume contest were: “Pocahontas” Novelo, who came dressed as a cowgirl, “Gypsy” Worthington as a bumblebee, and “Chiquita” Gonzales who came as a sorceress.
Thank you to all who came out and braved the rain to celebrate a Halloween full of treats with Saga, especially our costume contest judges – Hazel Swart, Maureen Dalgarno, and Peter Jones. We would also like to send a big thank you to our sponsors for this event: Bowen and Bowen who provided a tent and cooler, Casa Pan Dulce who provided all of our spooky baked goods, and also to San Pedrano Stationery Store and Super Buy who provided the rest of our necessities at a discount. Thank you to all of you who donated supplies and treats including: Marisa Mello, Valerie Van Houten, and Lori Prediger.
We hope to see you all at our next open day/fundraiser – to be announced soon!
