New Year’s in San Pedro was brought in with a bang as various establishments of “La Isla Bonita” went out of their way to ensure their customers had a great time. The celebration commenced as early as 7 p.m. with some establishments offering lots of free snacks, as well as party favors, confetti and other fun paraphernalia to their guests. To toast the New Year, the management at many hot spots around town also gave away free bottles of champagne to all who were present for the midnight toast.
Wet Willy’s had quite a crowd; with party hats and sound horns, it was no wonder they attracted many with their party theme! As per usual, the grooving bartenders gave everyone a free glass of champagne or shot of jungle juice to set the mood right. With the very best in music slamming at the background, visitors got so much more than they bargained for.
The tradition continued with the annual Lion’s Dance held at the Lions Den. Lion members, visitors and party goers found the den as the place to be to bring in the New Year. After hours, the den had standing room only, but no one needed seating when all the way from Orange Walk was the famous Electro Sounds band who rocked the house until 7:30 in the morning. It seemed as if everyone in San Pedro was there because the dance floor was jammed with hundreds who came out to party with their friends.
Not far down from the den, Pier Lounge was also a huge hit. New Years Eve found countless visitors at the bar waiting and partying for the countdown to midnight. After “3, 2, 1, Happy New Year”, the crowd were more than ready to spend the night drinking and celebrating the birth of a new year with the people they love. Jan Brown, owner of Pier Lounge commented on its turnout, “we had an amazing amount of people coming over and we counted down till midnight. It’s always a treat for us to see our clients and friends enjoying themselves with us at the Lounge, it was definitely a party.”
A little straight ahead, the house was rockin’ at the Holiday Hotel. The establishment held its annual New Years Eve extravaganza which drew the biggest crowd. With music provided by DJ Habo and DJ Dabo, they kept the party moving till the wee hours of the morning. Party favors, free champagne and more were provided by the management. People drank, chatted, danced, were merry and for sure would remember this occasion as one of the best. Other places like the Jaguar rehab and disco, Big Daddy’s also drew a major crowd after hours. The entrance was jam packed as people stood in lines to get in….wow, talk about wanting to dance!
The year 2007 was received in grand style in San Pedro, thanks to the great preparation and planning of these establishments that provided awesome hospitality and fine festivities. Happy New Year to ALL!!!!
