While pregnant at two months, Alba Jimenez believed she was expecting twins. On her following pre-natal check up, Alba received the surprising news that it was not two but three babies. Six weeks before their delivery date, on August 13th, 2007, at 5:08 a.m., Jose Baeza was born at Ambergris Hopes Clinic. Due to delivery complications, the mother and child were flown to Belize City’s, Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where babies two and three were born. “Yesterday morning my wife had pain, about four in the morning, I took her to the doctor and she had lot of pain and she delivered a baby yesterday at about eight past five in the morning. The doctor said it was complicated so we went to the chopper and the chopper took us to Karl Heusner. The doctor took her to the special room to cut her, to have the two more babies,” commented proud father Jose Baeza.
Weighing three pounds, nine ounces, three pounds, 15 ounces and three pounds 14 ounces, the set of triplets remain at Karl Heusner in the Special Care Unit. The babies are both Alba and proud father Jose Baeza’s fourth, fifth and sixth children. According to the already doting father, they will be the last.
