The Belize Tourism Industry Association (BTIA) conducted a half day workshop on Wednesday, January 28th at Banana Beach Resort in San Pedro Town. The workshop had the participation of over 40 front desk agents from different areas within the tourism industry. Vice President of the San Pedro BTIA, Catherine Paz, explained that the first impression that a tour gets from people in the front line of any service is what a tourist will take for granted, hence it is important to train people in the right way. In a continued effort to improve the tourism industry, Paz says that it is imperative to conduct such types of training.
The workshop was entitled “Professional Business Behavior” and was facilitated by National President of the BTIA Dionne Chamberlain-Miranda.
Participants came from various business entities such as hotels, banks, restaurants and airlines in San Pedro. When asked if BTIA was pleased with the turnout, Paz stated that it was “incredible.”
Paz encourages those involved in the tourism industry to take full advantage of similar workshops when it is facilitated since it enhances the tourism industry. The workshop is a follow up to many other workshops planned by BTIA in San Pedro.
