As part of Child Stimulation Month, pre-schools around the country are holding various activities in conjunction with the community. In San Pedro, ABC Preschool, San Pedro Preschool and Little Angels Preschool donned their red, white and blues in celebration of Flag Day. Throughout the week, they were taught the importance of the Belizean flag and the meaning of it. The pride of waving the Belizean flag, the National Anthem being relayed, children walked through the streets of San Pedro proud to be Belizean.

Throughout the month, preschoolers, including Brighter Tomorrow have engaged in month long planning for Child Stimulation Month. Activities include: Culture Day, Health and Safety, Belizean Products, Sports, Arts with parents and grandparents and many other fun items.

This year marks the twenty-fifth anniversary of the celebration of Child Stimulation Month and activities are being held countrywide under the theme ‘Early Childhood Education; The Best Possible Start’.

Child Stimulation Month first began in March of 1984. Activities are planned and organized especially for preschoolers in collaboration with teachers and parents countrywide. These functions are aimed at heightening the awareness among teachers, parents and adults working with children and the wider community about the importance of Early Childhood Education and Development.
