The Scout Association of Belize is gearing up for the Fifth Central American Cub Scout Encounter. All seven Central American countries and Mexico will send Scout troops from different Clubs to the occasion, scheduled to run from April 4th to 8th at Camp Oakley in Burrell Boom Village in the Belize District.
Locally, the San Pedro Cub Scouts intend to send a troop of seven from their pack of 15 club members. On Tuesday, March 31st, the San Pedro Cub Scouts, sponsored by the San Pedro Roman Catholic School (SPRCS), spent a few minutes with the media, where they displayed their brand new uniforms. The Cub Scouts in San Pedro have been preparing for weeks to participate in the many activities which include Hidden Valley Educational Games, Entertainment Valley Recreational games, Character Development, Reflection Valley consisting of spiritual related activities, Unknown Valley consisting of traditional games and the Culture and Food Festival.
The troop of seven will be accompanied by San Pedro Scout Leader Emidio “Moncho” Acosta, Assistant Scout Leader, Wendy Gilharry, Cub Scout Leader, Sylvia Sedacy and Assistant Cub Scout Leader, Maribel Ramirez. The Cub Scout would like to thank the management of Warpaint for sponsoring the Club to attend the upcoming activity.
