Enchanting San Pedro was the ideal location for an Easter Break. With four days of holiday, Belizeans and tourists from around the world flocked to the shoreline in search for some much needed fun and relaxation. Fun activities and events had everyone entertained for a jam-packed long weekend.
On Good Friday, Easter's religious roots were displayed when the Roman Catholic Church held its annual Easter procession. Hundreds of people, all dressed in black, white or purple, came together to pray and sing while walking down the streets of “La Isla Bonita,” re-enacting Christ's journey to the cross.
Later that evening and throughout the rest of the weekend, businesses like Coconuts, Bayside, Fido's, Mojito's, and Tackle Box among others had many fun activities and live music for their customers to enjoy. Between fashion shows, bikini and dance competitions, games such as tug-of-war, greasy pole, barrel rolling and fierce Karaoke competition, everyone was kept entertained. Ambergris Caye once more proved to be the place to be for Easter 2009.
