ABC Pre-School's annual Halloween Bazaar was a great success. The Bazaar was held at the Central Park at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 1st. Excited children and adults came out to enjoy the evenings festivities. Wonderful and creative costumes were displayed; four outstanding winners were chosen during the costume contest. The Scariest was "The Spider Lady," Paula Guerrero; the Cutest was "The Little Pirate", Einer Alberto Gomez; the Prettiest was "Jasmine," a fictional character from Aladdin's Lamp, portrayed by Jasmin Moreno; and the Most Elegant was "The Jewelry Lady," Jamilie Vasquez.
Three lovely little ladies competed for the title of Miss ABC Pre-School 1997-98. Supporters cheered and voted for their favorite and towards the end of the evening the winner was selected. Miss Eleena Camile Ayuso, a charming four year old, was crowned Miss ABC Pre-School 1997/98.
The Halloween Bazaar is the only form of fund raising the school does during the year. From the funds received school bills are paid, equipment, utilities and supplies are bought. Also their annual Christmas Party and Children's Day activities are made possible from the bazaar profits. These events are always spectacular and enjoyable for participants as well as spectators.
Wil Alamilla Jr., principal of ABC, said that the school's play ground needs to be filled with white sand. It is very important that the project be completed for the beginning of next year. When it rains, as it has lately - a lot - the school compound is covered with water and becomes very muddy. That makes it impossible for the children to enjoy the playground. The money raised will help to contribute to the betterment of the school and the entire community on a whole.
