On Friday, March 13th, 1998, teachers, parents and students of Little Angels Pre-school held an art exhibition at the Lions Den from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon in commemoration of Child Stimulation Month, which is observed in March of every year.
Students and parents were asked to create an art work of their choice. Many of the art works were models of different businesses, buildings and places on Ambergris Caye. An interesting and fun piece on display was a model of the airstrip. Tropic Air and Maya Island Air offices were made from construction paper and colored; this inventive art piece was accessorized with little plastic taxi cabs and planes. There were two models of the San Pedro Town Hall, a model of San Pedro High School, the Boca Del Rio Park and San Pedro Distributors. There was a 93Belize Zoo94 model. Very rare and exotic animals graced the zoo compound, including a zebra and a lion. Another lovely art display was array of decorative clothes pin ornaments, including napkin holders and coasters. There was also a lovely hand sewn rag doll on exhibit along with doll houses and even models of some of the participant's homes.
The purpose of the art exhibition was to allow parents and children to interact and to spend time together sharing ideas and creating something they could be proud of.
