The Prime Minister's Office has announced the following adjustments to the Cabinet. They are part of a more comprehensive plan designed to enhance the overall performance of the public service in the delivery of services to the people of Belize.|
Each new minister, minister of state and minister whose portfolio has been adjusted will be required to sign, as was done on 31st August 1999, the Cabinet Memorandum of Understanding and Code of Conduct.
The Cabinet is as follows: Hon. Said Musa, Prime Minister, Minister of Finance and Foreign Affairs; Hon. John Briceno, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Natural Resources, the Environment and Industry; Hon. Maxwell Samuels, Minister of Public Utilities, Energy and Communications; Hon. Jorge Espat, Minister of National Security and Immigration; Hon. Ralph Fonseca, Minister of Budget Planning, Economic Development, Investment and Trade; Hon. George Price, Senior Minister; Hon. Jose Coye, Minister of Health, Public Services, Labour and Civil Society; Hon. Henry Canton, Minister of Works, Transport, Citrus and Banana Industries; Hon. Florencio Marin, Minister of the Sugar Industry, Local Government and Latin American Affairs; Hon. Dolores Balderamos-Garcia, Minister of Human Development and Women; Hon. Daniel Silva, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Cooperatives; Hon. Mark Espat, Minister of Tourism and Youth; Hon. Cordel Hyde, Minister of Education and Sports; Hon. Marcial Mes, Minister of Rural Development and Culture; Hon. Dickie Bradley, Minister of Housing, Urban Renewal and Home Affairs; Godfrey Smith, Attorney-General and Minister of Information.
Newly appointed Ministers of State are Hon. Servulo Baeza, Minister of State in the Ministry of Economic Development and Hon. Patricia Arceo, Minister of State in the Ministry of Industry.
