The San Pedro Library Art Contest

1st Prize Lower Division by Chantal Castillo
On April 3rd, 1997, the staff of the San Pedro Library Branch held their annual art contest at the Lions Den at about 8:00 p.m. The theme for this year’s contest was "Wildlife of Belize". With almost a hundred entries and only three judges it was a difficult task to choose the three best drawings or paintings from the three levels. Art entries in the lower level were submitted by children in the beginners and infant I and II classes, the middle level entries were received from the children in the Standard 1 to 3 and the upper level consisted of entries from children in Standard 4, 5 and 6. The judges for event were Ms. Lydia Chuc, Mr. Jack Westerhold and Mr. Marcos Larios. Children from the Island Academy School and the San Pedro Roman Catholic School participated in the art contest.
