National Certification Tour & Travel Guiding Service Training Program
The Belize Tourist Board and the Belize Tour Guide Association announce the implementation of the National Certification Tour & Travel Guiding Services Program. This national certification program fulfills the criteria required in the Statutory Instrument No. 80 for the certification of tour guides. The entire training program is being held countrywide between the months of March to August. This tourism industry milestone demonstrates the Belize Tourist Board's commitment to human resource development within the tourism industry. The Belize Tourist Board is investing over $100,000.00 for the implementation of the training program this year. It is expected that about 300 tour guides will be certified before the commencement of the 1998 tourism season.
