Lions Celebrate 21st Anniversary

The San Pedro Lions Club, guests and friends celebrated the club's 21st Anniversary Saturday, October 26, 1996, with a gala dinner and dance. Lions Governor Liliana Lagos was present for the occasion. The Boy Scout Troop #15 of San Pedro in addition to being the honor guard presented the National Anthem.

Recognition was given to the club's Charter Monarchs: Alfredito Alamilla, Octavio Alamilla, Wilfredo Alamilla, Abel Guerrero, Edilberto Marin, Gonzalo Munoz, Angel Nuņez, Felipe Paz, Pedro Salazar and Francisco Verde. Awards were also given to Monarchs for loyalty and service to mankind as follows: 21 Years, the Charter Monarchs and Manuel Ancona, Rosendo Graniel, Baldemar Graniel, Manuel Heredia Jr., Aldo Marin and Luis Nuņez; 20 Years - Louis Sylvestre, Jerry McDermott; 15 Years - Roque Salazar; 10 Years - Steve Manuel, Otto Rodriguez.

Guest speaker for the evening was the first president of the San Pedro Lions Club, and the first president to be elected District Governor, Pedro Salazar. Following Lion Salazar's address, a toast was shared and Lion Beto Marin gave the vote of thanks. The ladies of the Lions Club served dinner and dancing followed to the wee hours of the morning.
