Miss San Pedro To Be Named September 8

Central Park is the place to be on Sunday, September 8 at 7:00 p.m. - the
Miss San Pedro Pageant will be presented. Florita Ancona, Jocelyn Bremekamp
and Nelda Graniel will be competing for the title of Miss San Pedro 1996-97.
The September Celebrations Committee, headed by Mrs. Gloria Guerrero will
be awarding the winner a $4,000 cash prize. All the contestants will receive
gold pendants courtesy of D & G Fine Jewelry and Arts and perfumes courtesy
of Louis Sylvestre. The young lady judged most photogenic will receive an
photo album courtesy of Ms. Kay Scott, and Miss Amity will receive a surprise
gift.
Sponsors of the pageant are the Belize Tourist Board, TACA International
Airline and Fido's Courtyard. Tropic Air is sponsoring Florita Ancona; Jocelyn
Bremekamp's sponsor is San Pedro Hardware and Nelda Graniel is sponsored
by the Belize Yacht Club. The sashing ceremony for the contestants was held
at Fido's Courtyard on Wednesday evening, September 4th.
After the new Miss San Pedro is named, a dance with music by the Gilharry
7 will be held. Tickets for the pageant are on sale. Reserved seats are $15.00
and other seats are $10.00.
