Search at sea uncovers cash and cocaine







At about 12:45 p.m. on October 17th, 1997, Police, Belize Defence Force, Customs and Immigration Officers conducted an Anti-Drug Operation north of San Pedro Town where they arrested Albert Bradley for drug trafficking.

According to the police report received by the San Pedro Police Department, Bradley was met by the Anti- Drug Operation team, and his 23 foot skiff with 55 h/p engine was searched. A black bag was discovered which contained suspected cocaine weighing 4.2 kilograms. Bradley was also searched and over $16.000.00 was found on his person. Bradley, a tour guide of a Lagoon Side address of San Pedro Town, was arrested and charged with drug trafficking. The skiff, outboard and money were confiscated by the police.

Earlier this year, Bradley was found with a large quantity of cash which he claimed was a loan to repair his boat. The money was returned after income tax made deductions.
