San Pedro celebrates September 10

San Pedro Roman Catholic School at the Children's parade

At about 11:30 a.m. on September 10, San Pedro school children dressed in their uniforms and lead by two group leaders holding their school banners left Central Park to make their celebration march. Tourists and locals lined the streets to watch and take pictures of the children. The highlight of the parade was the high school band and students who danced under the mid-day sun shouting "Jump-up! Jump-up!"

The parade ended at the Central Park where an all day jump-up was held with the ever popular High School Band and Lichie's Box.

On the evening of Tuesday, September 9th, primary school children of San Pedro Town gathered together at Central Park to patriotically celebrate the September season with dance, song, and poetry.

Master and Mistress of Ceremonies were Mr. Angel Nuñez and Miss Kainie Manuel. The four Miss San Pedro Contestants - Miss Sandra Gutiérrez, Miss Nelay Perez, Miss Vanya Vasquez and Miss Janilie Lizama - awarded every participant with a collection of school supplies.

The children who participated ranged from little babies who recited the alphabets to members of the San Pedro High School Band who entered the children after the talent show. The San Pedro Town Board and organizers of the children's talent show would like to thank the children, teachers and everyone who helped to make the evening a success.
