Green Reef and Coral Cable Vision sponsor TV programme

In support of the International Year of the Reef initiative and World Environment Day, Green Reef and Coral Cable Vision will be sponsoring a series of videos on coral reefs. These are a few of the activities with which Green Reef will be involved to commemorate the declaration of seven sites of the Belize Barrier Reef as a World Heritage Site.

The videos will provide an introduction to the science, ecology and importance of coral reefs, as well as an overview of the serious environmental problems confronting them. Utilizing underwater footage shot on reefs worldwide, the programs describe how reefs are formed, where they can be found, their importance to tropical oceans and the human community, and the major natural and human-caused threats faced by reefs.

The videos will be shown on channel 7 every weeknight, right after the local news, around 8:00 p.m.
