wondering what kind of fruit this is. I was told some kind of apple. The bush has long thorns on it.

people have been eating elbert's termites for millenniums!! (tho i am yet to try it)

the link i posted said it was a diff kind of plum - dont know if it is the same as a cocoplum or not - the cocoplum links didnt say anything about thorns.

it does say the whole plant, outside of the fruit, is highly poisonous.

It is sweet and you can definitly tell the ripening stage by watching the plant. It grows deeper red-pink and starts to get soft. The thorns are long and very sharp.
