The North Ambergris Caye Neighborhood Watch, (NACNW), would like everyone to know that there will be a Meet and Greet, Membership Enhancing, Fundraising BBQ on Sunday November 20 at 1 pm at the new NACNW Police substation near the Palapa Bar.

There will be BBQ chicken, rice and beans, potato salad and chili beans for BZ$10. Ice-cold beer and sodas will also be available for sale. Master BBQ Chef John Harvey will be overseeing the BBQ.

The purpose of the BBQ is to meet our neighbors, encourage membership in NACNW and raise money for our next security project. As you know, the Police Substation was built by donated labor with donated materials supplemented by membership dues. It is now manned by officers from the San Pedro Police Station. They are requesting a communication system to connect with the officers on patrol, the substation and the San Pedro Police Station. W e would like to purchase a basic radio system consisting of a base station, antenna and four portable radios for about BZ$6,000. Donations will be gratefully accepted and acknowledged.

The Officer in Charge, Corporal Young, and patrol officers that are assigned to our area to patrol will be present and will be introduced to all.

We will also have on hand the latest phone tree that includes the area from the Boca del Rio Bridge to Tranquility Bay. Please make sure you are on the list and your information is current. You may subscribe to the NACNW yahoo groups at the BBQ if you're not a member.

Please join NACNW if you're not already a member and tell your neighbors. Dues are BZ$100 per year for individual households and BZ$250 per year for businesses. Dues run from year to year beginning January 1, and we will be accepting 2012 dues at the BBQ.

Thank you from the NACNW board.
