Hi! My husband and I are planning our first trip to Belize over the Christmas Holidays. I have many questions, and hope I receive many opinions! First, how is the weather during December? Is it warm enough for all the beach activities? Do all the tours still run during this time? Are the restaurants and bars still open? We are ages 60 and 48, and prefer quiet evenings, low key hotel preferably with a small kitchen, good beach area and pool, yet close to town. I see that all the hotels more than double their price during this season. What about rental cars for exploring the ruins and cave areas on our own? Good or not? Thank you for all your input!

I can't answer all of your questions, but in 6 years of visits to Belize I spent my first holiday season on San Pedro this past season. It was a great time. The weather was perfect and warm day & night, rained one night in a 2 week stretch. No wet suit for snorkeling, the water was perfect. It was PERFECT !!! and I'm looking forward to it again in 2006. I leave for one of regular/annuals in 18 DAYS !!
